Uber will register as a company to operate in the Dominican Republic

Uber confirmed that it will register with the National Institute of Transit and Land Transportation (Intrant), as Transport Network Company (ERT), in compliance with the decree 515-21 signed by President Luis Abinader, which recognizes the particular characteristics of the private passenger transport service through technological platforms.

In a press release, Uber reiterates its commitment to offer mobility solutions to citizens and contribute to the economic recovery process. According to the information, Uber is currently a tool for more than 28,000 families that generate additional income as driver partners and a mobility alternative for the more than 500,000 users in the country.

The executive reaffirmed “Uber’s will to continue contributing to the economic and tourism reactivation throughout the country and to continue advocating that Dominicans can exercise their right to choose between multiple mobility options in an ecosystem in which all modalities can coexist and support the efforts of the authorities for the benefit of innovation and the digital economy sector of the country and the entire Dominican society ”.
