Two Propeep employees die in an accident on the El Limón bridge, Ocoa

SANTO DOMINGO.- Two employees of the Presidency’s Strategic and Special Projects (Propeep) died and three others were injured in a traffic accident that occurred this Sunday morning at the El Limón bridge, in San José de Ocoa.

The deceased were identified as Nicole Estheffany de los Santos, 24, a resident of Los Alcarrizos, who was pregnantand Alexis Antonio Pimentel Quezada, a native of Constanza, 37 years old.

While the injured are Ada Iris Antuna, who was driving the Nissan Frontier brand truck, model 2022, and Wilson Raylin Borgen Angustia, 28, who suffered multiple injuries to the arm, leg and head and other parts of the body. During the accident, Andry Jiménez was slightly injured.

The bodies of the deceased were taken to the headquarters of the National Institute of Forensic Sciences (Inacif), in Bani, for the corresponding purposes, and the injured receive care at the San José de Ocoa hospital.

The five belong to the Directorate of Dominicana Digna, in charge of organizing the “You First” conference, which would be the 54th Propeep event this year, and the driver of the Department of Transportation.

Minister Neney Cabrera reported the suspension of the “First You” day of social inclusion due to the unfortunate tragedy.

In a press statement, offered through Propeep’s Communications Department, Cabrera explained that the accident occurred at approximately 6:30 in the morning this Sunday, when the vehicle in which they were traveling slipped at kilometer 5. from the section of highway Cruce de Ocoa to the Ocoa municipality, in the San José de Ocoa province.

He added that the driver tried to avoid an impact with the El Limón bridge in the town of El Ranchito, with the consequences described.
