With three days to go until the 1st round of the general elections in Brazil, which takes place next Sunday (2), the Brazilian population has a series of applications available that can assist in obtaining information and access to various services. They can be used during and after elections and help to make the entire electoral process more transparent. TSE provides applications for services and query results

You apps of Electoral Justice are free and available in the main app stores of smartphones and tablets. The recommendation is that the applications be downloaded until this Saturday (1st), because some of them, such as e-Título, will not be available for download on the day of the election.

Results

One of these apps is Results. Through the app, anyone can follow the counting of votes in the 26 states and the Federal District. A version of the tool can also be accessed directly from a web page.

On election day, queries can be made by name of the candidate or candidate or by the position in dispute. The application will inform, in real time, the names of those who are elected or those who will compete in the 2nd round. It will also be possible to check the attendance and abstention rates, the number of valid, blank and null votes, in addition to the number of total sections.

The electorate will also be able to follow information about electronic voting machines, such as the Ballot Boxes and the Digital Vote Register. The announcement of votes will begin at 17:00, Brasília time. This year, the election time will be unified across the country and, therefore, the results will be able to be checked after the close of voting, without the need to wait for the closing in states with a time zone different from Brasília, such as occurred in previous years.

Bulletin in hand

with the app Bulletin in Hand, anyone will be able to know the results obtained directly in the electronic voting machines. This is because the platform quickly and securely offers the contents of the Ballot Boxes (BU) printed at the end of voting activities in each polling station.

The document contains the total of votes received by each candidate or candidate, null and blank votes and abstentions that occurred in that polling station, among other information. The ballot boxes have a QR Code which can be read by the Boletim na Mão application and show the votes counted specifically in the polled box.

e-Title

O e-Title is the platform where citizens can access the digital version of the voter registration card. The application informs the address of the polling place and provides information about the electoral situation. In addition, the app allows issuing certificates of discharge and electoral crimes, it can also be used to justify absence on polling day, among other services.

Whoever has the biometrics collected by the Electoral Justice can attend the voting section and present only the e-Title in order to be identified. If you do not have biometrics, you must present an official photo ID to be able to vote.

Sparrow

Another application suggested by the Electoral Justice is the Sparrowwhich encourages people to act as real election inspectors, to curb irregular campaign advertising and other crimes.

The tool allows the person to make the complaint in real time. After downloading the appit is possible to take photos or videos and send them to the Electoral Court as a way of subsidizing the complaint.

Pardal makes it possible for complaints with indications of irregularity to be forwarded to the Public Electoral Ministry (MPE) for investigation. The app can also be downloaded via web form on the Electoral Justice pages.

Doubt

The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) also provides the Doubt of the TSE, as the virtual robot in the messaging application is known Whatsappto clarify and provide information about the electoral process and this year’s elections in real time.

through the chatbot, a type of virtual assistant, any registered person receives checks on fake news and information about Electoral Justice services.

To access the tool, the interested person simply needs to add the telephone number +55 61 9637-1078 to the WhatsApp contact list or access it through link. Then just send a message to the virtual assistant.

Misinformation Alert

Finally, the TSE still maintains the Disinformation Alert System Against Electionsin which it is possible to communicate to the Electoral Court the receipt of false, decontextualized or manipulated news about the elections or the electronic voting system.

The complaints collected are passed on to digital platforms and verification agencies so that they can quickly contain the harmful consequences of disinformation.
