The workers of Garrahan Hospital This Thursday they carry out a strike and a mobilization towards the Ministry of Health, led by Carla Vizzotti, to demand a salary recomposition.
The day of protests was called by the Association of Professionals and Technicians of the Garrahan Hospital (APyT), who demand a salary floor of 180 thousand pesos and 80% recomposition. Participating in the strike are doctors, nurses and technical workers from the clinic.
The workers of Garrahan Hospital They also denounce that the staff leaves due to poor working conditions, so the professionals who remain must assume a greater workload.
“We are warning about a progressive emptying of young professionals from this, which is a highly complex hospital. The workload is very hard, in salary conditions at the limit of the poverty basket”, expressed the general secretary of the APyT, Norma Lezana.
At the same time, Lezana maintained: “We hope that the National State considers listening and considers that an agreement is necessary that substantially improves the situation, to sustain the care model, and that strengthens the budget and the endowment in our hospital, in order to be able to reach an agreement and resolve this conflict”.
This, given that “in these conditions, the degradation of the hospital is inevitable. And that is paid by the community, not by hospital officials, who have privileged salaries.”
From the association they also explained that “the measure was voted with massive consensus and communicated to the national Ministry of Labor, the national Ministry of Health and the Board of Directors and Directorate of the Garrahan Hospital”, with which “it was possible to unify the claim of all the workers of the Garrahan”.
What are the workers asking for?
The health workers indicated: “For years we have been demanding recognition, transfer to the plant, a salary according to our activity, with training in a highly complex model, and we reached this situation, where stories are repeated, of professionals young people who leave the hospital because the salary is not commensurate with the tasks”.
Y they claimed that they are “tied to the general parity of the National State, where they discuss ATE (Association of State Workers) and UPCN (Union of Civilian Personnel of the Nation)”for which they demand that “an agreement be contemplated for the Garrahan in which the claim of the true protagonists is expressed, that we are the workers of the health team of the hospital”.
