The Superior Electoral Court (TSE) defined the time that parties will have free advertising on radio and TV. According to an ordinance published on Tuesday (25), the subtitles with the longest time will be DEM, MDB, PDT, PL, PP, PSB, PSD, PSDB, PSL, PT and Republicans. All will have 20 minutes and 40 inserts available in both media during the first half of this year.
The Electoral Justice used the performance of the subtitles in the 2018 general elections to distribute time, in addition to possible re-talks of votes for the Chamber of Deputies, mergers and incorporation of subtitles. In total, 305 minutes of airing and 610 insertions were distributed to the 23 parties that met the requirements.
In free advertising, parties must comply with electoral legislation and broadcast content that disseminates party ideals, messages to members, topics of interest to society and promotion of inclusion in the country’s political life.
The time defined by the TSE has nothing to do with the electoral propaganda intended for the presentation of candidates who will run in the October elections.
The free election time will only start in August.
