The president of the Upper House, Óscar Salomón, convenes an extraordinary session at 10:00 AM this Friday, March 18, to deal with the bill sent by the Executive, which creates the Fuel Price Stabilization Fund Petroleum derivatives.
In this regard, Salomón considered that it is extremely important, at least to discuss the approach, in order to find a solution to the conflict.
However, he announced that he will request a report today from the Ministry of Finance on the level of indebtedness in the country and on the latest loans contracted.
Some legislators from the PLRA, Patria Querida, the PDP and the non-official ANR, expressed their disagreement with the project.
Desirée Masi announced that her bench will not participate in the session, until the Executive sits down to socialize and explain the scope of the project, since she does not believe it is convenient to resort to new indebtedness, while crude meets a 10-day decline.
The project sent by the Treasury stipulates transitory contingency measures to import Diesel, Gasoil Type II, Type C and Virgin Naphtha.
The purpose is to mitigate price fluctuations in the domestic market and involves the Ministry of Industry and Commerce, the Customs Directorate and Petropar.
