Government of Minas opens public consultation on highway concession

With the motto Transform to Rebuild in all artistic activities, the Movirio Festival, considered one of the most important dance events in Latin America, launches its fifth edition today (8), at 11 am, during live at the Instagram. This year, the festival will be entirely in person, with free classification, said the creator and general director of the event, Carlos Fontinelle.Transforming to Rebuild is the theme of the Movirio Festival

Movirio was the only festival in Brazil that promoted in-person presentations of solos, duos and trios of dancers in 2020, at the João Caetano Theater, of the National Arts Foundation (Funarte). Due to the covid-19 pandemic, there was no audience, but the organization kept the dance performances, to help professionals in that difficult time for the entertainment sector. The hybrid version (face-to-face and virtual) was adopted for the activities.

In 2021, the hybrid format was maintained, but with a differential. The program was distributed throughout the year, from March to October, in different parts of the city of Rio, such as Parque Lage, the outside of Casa França Brasil, among other places. “We thought about doing everything outdoors because of covid-19, but in a much broader way. We left the theater to bring more participants to the festival”, said the director.

Innovative actions

After two years of programming in the hybrid format, in 2022 the Festival Movirio will be entirely in person. The fifth edition of the event, which is already part of the cultural calendar of the capital of Rio de Janeiro, will run from the 8th to the 28th of this month, bringing the idea of building a set of innovative actions that intensify the relationship of dance in numerous scenic activities. “We are returning as face-to-face, because we need to promote the artistic and economic chain”, highlighted Fontinelle. There will be national and foreign shows, with actions connected by four guidelines, which are artistic creation, exchange, diversity and audience formation.

Carlos Fontinelle said that, on average, Movirio involves, in each edition, 5,000 to 7,000 participants in all activities. This year, the goal is to reach 5,500 to 5,700 dancers from Brazil and abroad. There will be free shows at the Centro Cultural Banco do Brasil (CCBB RJ), at the Sebrae Reference Center for Brazilian Crafts (Crab), and outdoors, at Praia do Flamengo, with the show Ecos, by Cia. Garopaba Attitude, from Santa Catarina. At popular prices, the attractions will be held at the João Caetano and Cesgranrio theaters, with prices ranging between R$60 and R$20.

The highlights are the Short and Video Dance Show, Movie Rio, at CCBB RJ, the shows Sobre as Ondas do Mar, at the João Caetano Theater, Vivá Cia. de Dança and the international Só20, also at João Caetano, in addition to Cia. Claudio Bernardo, from Belgium. The event will feature an artistic residency, business circle, show for children, competitive shows, national and international shows, debate table, auditions, workshops, urban artistic interventions and programming. online during the month of August. Ocean

The director pointed out that Movirio is an incubator of movements and ideas, whose purpose is to provide interactions with simultaneous activities. With the collaboration of the Aid Fund for Ibero-American Arts – Programa Iberescena, Carlos Fontinelle stated that this is the first year that Movirio “began to cross the ocean”.

In addition to the 17 Ibero-American countries covered by Iberescena (Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Colombia, Chile, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Spain, Guatemala, Mexico, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Portugal, Uruguay), the 5th Movirio edition also has a partnership with the Belgian Consulate, which brings Cia.Claudio Bernardo. The idea this year, said the director, is to create bridges through sociocultural and artistic connections with international companies, democratizing the access and exchange of great professionals recognized worldwide.

When it premiered in 2018, the festival moved the center of Rio de Janeiro, with the participation of more than 5 thousand professionals, directly and indirectly, in its workshops, shows, lectures and actions in favor of promoting Rio de Janeiro dance, gaining visibility. In the following year, at the invitation of the Secretary of Culture and Creative Economy of Rio, the program was extended to 21 consecutive days, reaching an audience of more than 1 million people. It is considered one of the biggest dance festivals in Latin America, due to its duration and artistic plurality.
