They capture a man who was carrying a weapon from World War II in Cartagena

Units of the Criminal Investigation Section (Sijin), through a raid carried out in the Policarpa neighborhood of Cartagena, managed to capture a man, A 22-caliber pistol, of the High Standard brand, with a market value of $80 million, was found on him.

According to General Nicolás Zapata, commander of the Cartagena Metropolitan Police, the weapon is a semi-automatic pistol equipped with an integral silencer, which was commonly used during World War II.

“The particular thing that we have is that, where this weapon was found, there is a reception place, that is, where stolen items are located and bought. Very surely this gun is part of that payment and the person does not know the historical value of the weapon, which was used in World War IIZapata pointed out.

“This is the third weapon of this type that we have seized, which were used in the First and Second World Wars and many are unaware of their historical value. All these weapons have even been used for robberies in the city of Cartagena”, added the general.

In addition to the emblematic weapon, in the operation More than 120 cartridges were seized, including 74 long 9mm caliber, 16 short 9mm caliber, 7 22mm caliber, 16 38mm caliber and two suppliers.

The Metropolitan Police of Cartagena indicated that, so far this year, 443 illegal weapons have been seized and 450 people have been arrested for the crime of illegal possession of firearms.

These include 154 industrial weapons, 256 spells, 23 traumatic, 8 pneumatic and two modified.
