Transfer of 15 modular classrooms to hard-to-reach areas of the Ngäbe-Buglé region begins

Approximately 173,108 kilograms in humanitarian assistance will be delivered by the Government of Panama with the support of the Government of the United States, to indigenous communities that are difficult to access, through the Mercurio IV Humanitarian Exercise in its phase II.

The objective of the Mercury Humanitarian Exercise is the airlift of 15 modular classrooms from the Ministry of Education (MEDUCA), to replace ranch schools in 11 communities and the Ngäbe-Buglé Comarca.

Task Force Bravo made high-capacity aircraft from the Southern Command available for the exercise, including 3 Chinook and 5 Blackhawk helicopters. The total load to be moved is 173,108 kilograms and it will take place over 19 days, so They will end on Tuesday, February 7.

This exercise is carried out by personnel from the National Aeronaval Service (SENAN), the National Police (PN) and the National Border Service (SENAFRONT), in conjunction with other government entities such as: the National Civil Protection System (SINAPROC) and the Agricultural Marketing Institute. (IMA).
