In the village of El Hogar, In rural Popayán, a nine-year-old girl died after falling into the waters of a stream and being swept away by the current in the middle of a heavy downpour that ended up generating several emergencies.
The authorities stated that The minor was with her father, slipped and fell into the La Calera ravine, being dragged for a long stretch. Although she was rescued, she was transferred to a care center, but He arrived without vital signs.
“He didn’t make it out alive. Every effort was made for the transfer, but unfortunately two landslides in the area did not allow the minor to be taken any longer”, explained German Callejas, director of the Popayán Disaster Risk Management Office.

The downpour, accompanied by strong winds, lasted for almost three hours, generating all kinds of emergencies both in the urban and rural areas of the city.
