Torrijos: “I know that I am the candidate of many members of the PRD”

Angel Valdes | June 27, 2023

The former president and presidential candidate for the Popular Party, Martín Torrijos, was on Radio Panama where in an interview with Enrique Arosemena where he discussed issues of national interest such as decentralization, the lack of medicines, possible political alliances and the situation within the PRD.

“I am like the clandestine candidate of the PRD because they have prohibited me from everything, practically they think that by decree they can determine the feeling of a membership that is ashamed of this leadership of the party and of the bad government that is being carried out,” Torrijos said. .

I also believe that many members of the PRD in the government sympathize with his candidacy but cannot say so for fear of being dismissed «It is sad to see how they think that by threatening and intimidating people with losing their jobs, they are playing with people, there is no I doubt that perhaps in the nominal part the PRD and the government have a candidate, but in the sentimental part I know that I am the candidate of many members of the PRD who today see with sadness and shame the moment the country is experiencing, but I also know that there is a group of Panamanians who are not within the PRD who sympathize with my proposal and to whom we are dedicating the time to unify the country around a common good”.
