Today marks the ninth day of indefinite unemployment in Colón, Colonense groups await Cortizo again

This Tuesday, May 17, marks the ninth day of the indefinite general strike in Colón, by different organized groups in the province to demand that the government respond to their requests, after President Laurentino Cortizo met with them last Thursday. .

The leaders hope that at 3:00 in the afternoon on Tuesday, the second meeting with the president and part of his cabinet will be held, however, this meeting has not been confirmed.

During the meeting held at the Abel Bravo school last week, it was understood that civil society, private companies and the National Government would participate.

According to the General Directorate of Communication of the Presidency of the Republic, this meeting is not confirmed.

Regarding the last meeting, the Unity for Columbus Coalition (CUCO) was left with a very big disappointment because there were expectations of punctual solutions with the visit of President Cortizo, who made an accountability, but did not give the solutions that the population expected before the high cost of living and rising fuel prices.
