To win the battle against malaria, the support of the citizenry is important: Minister Sucre

“In the battle against malaria, the attack must be carried out on all fronts, which is why it is important to reinforce fumigation in endemic areas, even if there is the alternative of mosquito nets and that the breeding sites of the transmitting mosquito are also eliminated,” he said. Minister Luis Francisco Sucre, during a technical meeting with the vector teams of the Ministry of Health.

In this meeting, the issue of the needs of the Vector team and medications was addressed, for which Sucre highlighted that, on the issue of malaria medications, to guarantee greater availability of these, in addition to those acquired by the Pan American Health Organization ( PAHO), there is the possibility of acquiring them in the same way directly and thus be able to supply in a better way all the regions of the national level.

“We must use all our resources, nebulization, the option of mosquito nets, but if someone forgot, arrived home late and could not extend it, it was fumigated and in this way the adult mosquito was attacked, but the Minsa it does its thing, with fumigations and mosquito nets, citizens must do their part”, the minister said.

Regarding the breeding sites, Sucre pointed out that the support of the public is important, to verify houses and environments, since mosquitoes emerge from breeding sites that can be eliminated if the population keeps their properties clean.
