Approximately 411 billion dollars would be needed in Ukraine to achieve its economic recovery and to be able to rebuild the areas devastated by the war that began more than a year ago after the invasion of the Russian army.
This figure is an estimate published jointly by the World Bank, the United Nations, the European Union and kyiv.
This sum would be more than double the Gross Domestic Product that Ukraine had before it was invaded.
Immediately, and for this year, the organizations estimate that Ukraine will require 14 billion to face the ravages of the Russian invasion.
“The reconstruction will take several years but the good news is the resilience and determination of the country and the support of partners to limit the damage and reduce the needs,” said Anna Bjerde, World Bank vice president for Europe and Central Asia.
