A total of 1,593,481 Panamanians have joined legally constituted political parties and those in formation, according to statistics from the National Electoral Organization Directorate.
This figure is contemplated until 8:00 am this Friday, November 19.
The Democratic Revolutionary Party (PRD) has 671,038 members; Democratic Change (CD), 295,852; the Panameñista Party, 274,521; Achieving Goals (RM), 120,933; the Nationalist Republican Liberal Movement (Molirena), 90,123; the Social Independent Alternative Party (PAIS), 27,806; Alliance, 26,196; and the Popular Party (PP), 19,344 registered.
Of the parties in formation, the Other Way Movement (MOCA) has 46,615 registered members, the Independent National Union (UNI) has 12,346 adherents, the Broad Front for Democracy (FAD) registers 7,993 and the Revolutionary Torrijista Party (PTR) has 714 members.
Regarding the collection of signatures for a parallel constituent by citizen initiative, the Firmo por Panamá group obtained 11,226 signatures and the Panama Decide Citizen Movement obtained 4,360. The Social Justice Movement ended its signature collection period on November 3, 2021.
