Once outside, they doused the gas cylinders with water and stopped the leak with wet rags. The fire started affected only one shelf near the kitchen and did not cause major damage. Hermelinda García said that the incident occurred when she was preparing food for her family.
What drew attention is that there was enough flammable material in the place that, if it were hit by fire, everything could quickly have caught fire.
