Through Executive Decree authorities confirm the suspension of carnivals throughout the country

The Ministry of Health (Minsa) announced this Thursday that, through Executive Decree No. 6 dated January 27, 2022, the cancellation of the carnivals of the year 2022 is ordered throughout the national territory due to the pandemic of the Covid-19.

The Decree that bears the signature of President Laurentino Cortizo and the Minister of Health, Luis Francisco Sucre, indicates in its article 2 that between Friday, February 25 and Sunday, March 6, 2022, the carrying out of massive activities is prohibited.

It is specified that the activities that are prohibited during this time are: dance activities, in open or closed spaces, in gardens, canteens, discos, awnings and the like.

In the same way, cantaderas, concerts, presentations, of artists on stage and animation in mobile structures of discotheques. Also prohibited are culecos or mojaderas, with or without auto cistern; parades, murgas, comparsas and tunas.

It also points out the prohibition of cockpits, irons, bullfights, ties and the like, as well as large gatherings in residences, buildings, streets or neighborhoods, known as parking.

The Ministry of Health, in coordination with the public security bodies and the Joint Task Force, must ensure compliance with the measures established in the decree.

The contravention of the provisions contained in the decree will be sanctioned by the authority, in accordance with its competence.

The decree takes effect from its promulgation.
