Auto parts, clothing and metals stand out in the export of industrial goods worth US$ 115 million in January 2023, with a historical record.
Paraguay managed to export manufactured goods for a total of 115 million dollars in this first month of 2023, registering the highest value in the history of this item. This data was disclosed by the Ministry of Industry and Commerce (MIC), through a report issued by the Vice Ministry of Industry. The historical record implies that Manufacturing exports were 18% more than the 98 million dollars registered in January 2022.
Export products are headed by “Autoparts” and “Clothing” items that appear in the first places, with 18% and 17%, respectively; following, the products of “Metals in general”, 11%; “Aluminum and its manufactures”, 9%; “Herbicides and fertilizers”, 8%, “Plastics and their manufactures”, 5%; “Iron and its manufactures”; 5%, “Pharmaceutical Products”, 4%; “Paper, cardboard and its manufactures” and “Discellaneous manufactures” with 4% each.
Regarding the main destinations of manufactured exports, it can be seen that 74% went to the MERCOSUR countries, where Brazil concentrated 56%, Argentina 15%, and Uruguay 2%. Other relevant destinations were: United States of America, 8%; Chile 6% and Bolivia, 3%; Peru, India, Mexico and Colombia represented 1% each.

Among the main agro-industrial products exported are: “Meat products and their derivatives”, 64%; “Oil of vegetable and animal origin”, 11%; “Drinks”, 7%; “Flour, cake and waste”, 4%; “Leathers”, 4% and “Mix for bakery products”, 3%.
Meanwhile, the main destination markets for agro-industrial goods were: Chile, 32%; Brazil, 22%; Taiwan, 6%; Russia, 6%; Argentina, 5%; Uruguay, 4%; United States of America, 4% and Israel, 3%. Together, MERCOSUR plus Chile concentrated 63% of the total agro-industrial goods exported in January 2023.
