The capture of those involved and the seizure of the drug occurred on September 28 in a rural area of Manabí.
On September 28, 2021, three people were arrested with 200 kilos of drugs in his possession in El Aromo, a rural area of Manabi. This seizure was achieved thanks to a secret operation of the National Police with agents from the Special Operations Group (GOE) and the Intervention and Rescue Operations Group (GIR). The uniformed officers arrived at the time when the drugs were going to be delivered to a farm.
From that, three people were sentenced to 17 years and 3 months in prison after being accused of the crime of drug trafficking cocaine. The Prosecutor’s Office announced it on its Twitter account. The sentence was given on February 22, 2022 in a Court of Criminal Guarantees of Manabí.
The evidence against the defendants was the testimony of the police officers who participated in the arrest and the chemical result of the product that gave positive for cocaine. (GVL)
