Three arrested for the death of the truck driver attacked with stones on a picket line

Three people are detained for the death of a 45-year-old transporter who tried to avoid one of the points of the protests that take place in different parts of the country due to lack of diesel and overprices, near the Buenos Aires city of Daireaux, and was attacked by stoned by those who staged the picket.

According to police sources told Télam, the detainees are Darío Javier Martin, a 46-year-old Argentine, single; Fabián Paredes, 44-year-old Argentine, single; and Federico Javier Fernández, 34-year-old Argentine, single. The three are truckers and residents of the city of Daireux, about 400 kilometers from the city of Buenos Aires.

As confirmed on Tuesday by the Argentine Federation of Transport and Logistics Entities (Faetyl), “the carrier from General Rodríguez was doing his job (Monday) around 5 p.m. when, passing through a picket about five kilometers from the access to the city ​​of Daireux towards Bonifacio, was strongly attacked by those who were protesting”.

It’s a statement, The entity indicated that “for not complying with the strike and stopping his truck, a van overtook him and threw stones at him that broke the windshield, caused him to lose control of the vehicle and, consequently, overturn the truck.”

After being assisted by Daireaux Police and Volunteer Firefighters, the transporter was taken to the hospital, where he finally died.

“From Faetyl we repudiate this type of event and reiterate our request for a solution to the problem that afflicts both the country’s logistics and production as well as the health of our drivers,” said the Argentine Federation of Transport and Logistics Entities (Faetyl). .

In this sense, he stated: “A few days after having sent letters to different ministries requesting the control of the security of the employees who transit the country’s routes and having warned about the risks of the transport stoppage due to the diesel crisis, we regret report that Guillermo Andrés Jara, a truck driver from one of the cameras that belong to Faetyl, died yesterday for being a victim of the violence generated in that framework,” the entity denounced in a statement.
