This Monday they will lay the first stone of the Luis Cavagnaro Regional Archive

This Monday, November 14, the first stone of the new headquarters of the Tacna Regional Archive will be laid, located on Tacna Bohemia Avenue in the Gregorio Albarracín district, reported its director Jesús Gordillo Begazo.

“This work is even considered by the director of the General Archive of the Nation as a model regional archive at the national level and as one of the best in Latin America,” he assured.

Nationwide Model File

The work will cost 30 million soles and will bear the name of Luis Cavagnaro Orellana. “It is a management that we have been doing for a couple of months, even Dr. Cavagnaro himself knew in life what would bear his name, but unfortunately this outcome occurred,” he commented.

In the new headquarters, all the collection that is now in the Regional Archive located in the former Legal House (corner of Zela street with Calderón de la Barca passage) will be transferred.

In the Intermediate Archive, located on Arica Street, documents from more recent times will continue to be kept, which make up the largest number and continue to accumulate.
