Shortly after 6:00 p.m., the acting president of the Upper House, Hugo Richer, adjourned the ordinary session of the Senate, noting the lack of a quorum.
The session remained without a quorum.
The special bill that temporarily suspends article 218 that establishes the Electoral Code was pending.
The request was promoted by the Electoral Justice itself, because the loss of some 7,000 voting machines during the fire will force a greater number of voters to be located at each voting station, which in turn will take more time.
Article 218 of the bill states that only after 7:00 p.m., voting will be closedclarifying that those who have arrived until that time will continue to vote, but not those who arrive later.
