After a week, the UCV prepares to carry out the elections for the representation of graduates, who are part of the co-government in that house of studies
The Central University of Venezuela (UCV) plans to hold the elections on Wednesday, July 13, to elect representatives of the graduates who will be part of the co-government in that house of studies in the period 2022-2024.
Graduates from 11 faculties will participate in this process in an election estimated to be held between 8:00 am and 5:00 pm; where those called to vote are the graduates of the UCV from the year 1972. They must do so in person and at the first school where they completed their undergraduate studies.
Professors will also be able to vote as long as they are graduates of that house of studies. Those who wish to pay must appear in the electoral register of graduates.
UCV graduates in the last 50 years -that is, since 1972- to choose the following positions in person and simultaneously in each faculty: Faculty Council (1); School Council (1); University Senate (5) and Faculty Assembly (5).
Already Jesús Mendoza, current president of the Federation of University Centers of the UCV, had advanced in campaign that, if he wins the process, elections would be held to elect the new representatives of the graduates and professors after more than a decade without doing so.
The elections of graduates at the UCV had been scheduled, after 10 years, for last Wednesday, July 7. However, the University Council approved the date proposed by the Electoral Commission for postpone to the aforementioned date carrying out this process.
