BARAHONA. – With the participation of athletes of all the schools in the country will be held this Thursday at the sports complex of the municipal district of Villa Central, Santa Cruz de Barahona, the Third National School Athletics Tournament 2022.
The tournament in question organized by the National Institute of Physical Education (INEFI) and sponsored by the Ministry of Education (Minerd), will be held on the 28th of this month, at 10:00 in the morning, as reported to elCaribe, by the president of the Athletics Association of Barahona, Professor Alejandro Medina (Muningo).
Medina said that in every corner of the city center, sectors, neighborhoods and communities of the eleven municipalities that make up this province, this important event is the obligatory theme.
For such purposes, renovation and cleaning work has been carried out for days at the aforementioned Sports Complex, an action that is carried out by painters and masons sent from Santo Domingo by INEFI and local brigades of the Ministry of Public Works.
Currently, a large number of these boys are seen morning and afternoon exercising on the athletics track, physically preparing to participate in this important tournament, a practice that they could not do, due to the abandonment in which the Sports Complex track had been immersed for years.
Several other areas of the Sports Complex, as well as the athletics track, including the Olympic pool and the soccer practice pool, were also abandoned, as a result of the apathy of the current administration of the complex in question.
