The Santa Cruz Mayor’s Office aims to reinforce vaccination strategies for minors with a view to returning to face-to-face classes, while this Sunday the celebrations for Carnavalito andThey will be restricted within the Santa Cruz center, but they can be carried out outside the first ring with the proper authorization.

The measures were taken at the meeting of the Municipal Emergency Operations Committee (COEM) that decided to maintain trafficability 24 hours a day and activities cheap until 2:00.

The resolution indicates that from this Thursday, March 3 to Monday, March 14, new measures are in force in the capital municipality. “The determination has been made that the Municipal Government of Santa Cruz de la Sierra, in a coordinated manner with all sectors and institutions, they will continue with the mass vaccination brigades and biosecurity measuresall this to increase the percentages of vaccination of citizens and students in the field of education”, said the Secretary of Institutional Strengthening and Autonomies of the Mayor’s Office, José Luis Santistevan.

He announced that an extended meeting is scheduled for March 10 with the aim of fine-tuning the protocols and biosecurity measures for the return to the classroom on March 14.

“The COEM is going to take the necessary measures for the mobilization of people, students, vaccination, diagnostic tests, biosafety measures and everything that has to do with the operation of educational establishments“, he pointed.

For his part, the municipal secretary of Health, Roberto Vargas, indicated that, within the activities programmed with the resumption of face-to-face classes in mind, more vaccinators are being incorporated to reinforce immunization points in schools and even brigades will travel to educational centers on weekends.

He indicated that the staff remains on permanent alert to achieve the largest number of vaccinated children and be able to have a favorable and safe return to the classroom.

Likewise, he informed that they are in the stage of preparing the files for the clinical histories that are planned to be done for each student for a comprehensive control of their health. “We are in the process of buyingof the medications and supplies that will be needed to care for the students,” he stressed.

Regarding the Carnavalito, Santistevan reported that it was determined to restrict the celebrations this Sunday in the center of the city and outside the first ring they will be authorized and regulated according to regulations.

“It is established that events outside the first ring must be authorized by the COEM, which will determine the capacity and other aspects. Anyone who carries out massive events without authorization from the COEM will be reported to the Public Ministry,” Santistevan warned.

He clarified that any activity that exceeds 50 people is considered a massive event and that the regulation for them also applies until March 14.
