Social, union and political organizations announced that during the next few days they will carry out assemblies across the country in backing of Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner after denouncing in a statement that “the Judicial Party, together with the hegemonic media, want to imprison” the former president, within the framework of the trial known as Vialidad.
“We want to announce that we are going to hold hundreds and hundreds of popular assemblies in every corner of our country, so that, in every neighborhood, in every factory, in every square, in every neighborhood clublet it be known that, if they touch Cristina (Fernández de Kirchner) they touch all of us”, announced the Peronist, independent and left-wing organizations, through a joint statement entitled: “With Cristina proscribed, there is no democracy” .
Among the signatories are the national CTA led by Hugo Yasky, the Great Homeland Frontthe Land and Housing Federation (FTV), the Liberation Territorial Movement (MTL), the Octobers Movement; the Martin Fierro Movementthe Arturo Jauretche Groupand the Unemployed Workers Coordinator (CTD) Hannibal Veron.
They also subscribe to Peronism of Base-Group Envar El Kadri; organization La Germán, Peronist March, La Social-CTA, the Eva Perón Neighborhood Coordinator, Peronist Women of the province of Buenos Aires and the Free People’s CTD, and fractions of the Darío Santillán Popular Front and the Aníbal Verón MTD.
“In the last few weeks we’ve seen how the judiciary party of our country, in tune with the hegemonic media and the interests of the Argentine Business Association speed up the time to imprison our partner and driver Cristina Fernández de Kirchner,” the statement said.
And they considered that, “as evidenced by the audit carried out at the time by the National Road Directorate (DNV), whose head was the complainant of the case, Javier Iguacel, there was no irregularity in the execution of the road works that were awarded in the province of Santa Cruz neither on prices nor on unfinished half-finished works”.
“Despite this, a story is built from the media that condemns without evidence, they are defense possibilities, without justice,” they remarked.
In the letter they also denounced: “In reality there is no attempt to do justice, only the objective of proscribing the compañera Cristina Fernández de Kirchner, the only one who still represents the hope of millions and millions of Argentine men and women, that a fairer country with growth, development and social inclusion for the great majority, just as it was lived in the period in which she and Néstor governed the country”.
“They are afraid of losing at the polls and that is why they intend, through lawfare (judicial persecution), to leave it out of the political system. It is not justice, it is hatred, impotence and contempt for Argentine democracy,” they concluded.
Mobilization in Córdoba to support Cristina Kirchner
The Front of All of Córdoba (FdT) called for this Thursday a mobilization in “defense of democracy” and in support of Vice President Cristina Fernández de Kirchner under the slogan “The people are with Cristina: Enough of lawfare”
The appointment is at 6:00 p.m. from the intersection of Colón and Cañada, in the downtown area of the city of Córdoba.
Through a statement, the local FdT repudiated “the use of the judiciary as an instrument of political persecution” towards the vice president and Peronism.
The space considered that the positions assigned to him are part of a “systematic strategy of the concentrated powers to destabilize popular governments, proscribe their leaders and dismantle the movements” aligned with the sector.
For her part, the national deputy Gabriela Estévez (FdT Córdoba) affirmed – in statements to the press – that the Vialidad case is a “media operation” that seeks to “proscribe the leader of Peronism with the greatest intention to vote; discipline the leaders and protect the leaders and businessmen from macrismo”.
“There is plenty of evidence linking them (to macrismo) to acts of corruption, even in the same cases in which they try to incriminate Cristina,” he concluded.
