This Thursday, April 7, the Ministry of Public Works (MOP) will hold a public hearing for citizen participation in the East Pan-American Highway project.

The entity invited the residents of East Panama and Darién to participate in this hearing, which will be held in compliance with biosecurity measures and with a capacity of 285 people.

This hearing will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. at the University of Panama, Tortí extension, in the district of Chepo.

The “Pan-American Highway East”, whose prefeasibility investment is 292 million 416 thousand 927 dollars, is the main means of communication and socioeconomic development that connects the province of Darién with the rest of the country.

This project is expected to benefit approximately 140,000 people by generating jobs during its construction, improving logistics communication to the east of the country, reinforcing the safety and quality of the road, and promoting agricultural and tourist development in the region.
