They threaten a general strike in Santo Tomás if they are not taken into account to discuss the bill on patronage

Harding assured that both doctors, nurses and administrators support this demonstration. They threaten to go on general strike if they are not attended to on Monday.

Tired of not being taken into account for the discussion of Bill 550 that modifies the Board of Trustees regime in the country, officials from the Hospital Santo Tomás, Este (HST) will march to the National Assembly this Monday, April 25.

In accordance with Jesús Harding, secretary in charge of the Association of Public Servants of the HST, the demonstration will take place at 3:00 in the afternoon.

After the President of the Republic vetoed Bill 550, the deputies discussed it and it was elevated to a second debate, without taking into account the health officials.

Harding assured that both doctors, nurses and administrators support this demonstration.

He added that his negative position on this law is that it could politicize patronages at the national level.

“We hope that they attend to us on Monday to see what we can resolve, because we do not agree with Law 550 and that this law be vetoed,” he said, noting that if they do not respond to them, the HST workers could go on a general strike. .
