The Environmental Control Brigade (BCA) of the Ministry of Environment of the Nation carries out rescue tasks for animals in Corrientes, whose habitat was destroyed after the fires, while the Ministry of Health delivered supplies to the fire departments so that they can attend the species that show wounds.
The environmental portfolio also specified that among the rescued species are the curiyú (Eunectes notaeus), deer, capybara and alligator, while the animals that survived are taken to the town of Santo Tomé, where there is a lodging center for these species and in which the BCA, the Red Cross and the Army work together.
The rescued species are transferred to places with ecological niches that were not affected by the fires, for their recovery.
The BCA also delivered to the municipality of San Miguel two 70-cubic-meter trays to store irrigation water and supplies for the assistance of animals in the fire station located in the town of Loreto.
The delivery was made within the framework of a joint action carried out with the Protenencia program belonging to the national Health portfolio.
The supplies, including gauzes, serum, gloves and chinstraps, will be used to care for the fauna affected by the forest fires.
The BCA also managed to extinguish another igneous source while rescuing and transferring species in the Santo Tomé area and the brigade members suspect that the lighting of these flames was intentional.
