A Venezuelan was among the 92 rescued migrants, including 19 minors who were transported in the box of a trailer on the Saltillo-Torreón federal highway, in the state of Coahuila de México.
The Mexican National Institute of Migration (INM), through its account on the social network Twitter, accounts for this rescue of 92 irregular migrants, among whom was a Venezuelan along with 31 people from Honduras, 26 from El Salvador, 17 from Cuba, 12 from Nicaragua, three from Guatemala, and one from Ecuador, Venezuela and Peru, respectively.
“In accordance with and safeguarding their rights, the adults were taken to the INM offices to begin the immigration process that defines their legal status in Mexico, while the minors remained under the guardianship of the System for the Integral Development of the Family. (DIF) in the state”, details the INM press release.
The foreigners were placed in a routine review at the Saltillo Criminal Justice Center.
The identification was carried out by INM personnel, in collaboration with elements of the Secretary of Public Security of the State of Coahuila and the municipality of Saltillo.
In the same way, it is reported that the driver and the vehicle were left at the disposal of the state police, who consigned them to the Public Ministry of the Mexican Federation.
