Businessman Fabian De Sousa requested this Monday to Justice that the former president of the Central Bank during the government of Together for Change (JxC) Frederick Sturzenegger be summoned to testify as a witness in the case in which the persecution of the shareholders of Grupo Indalo is being investigated.
The request made before the judge Maria Romilda Servini was presented as a result of the ex-official of the government of Mauricio Macri published an opinion note in the newspaper Perfil in which he rHe revealed that he had participated in a meeting in which there was talk of expropriating the C5N news channel.
The requirement was made by means of a document that bears the signature of the lawyers Carlos Beraldi and Ary Llernovoy.
“The fact reported by Sturzenegger, by the way of extraordinary seriousness, agrees with what timely, under oath to tell the truth, declared Christopher Manuel Lopezwhen describing that at that time – just at the moment in which the electoral process was taking place – the accused Mauricio Macri met with him at Franco Macri’s house,” the lawyers said.
On that occasion, Macri “demanded that the journalistic media of the Indalo Group -among them the news channel C5N- be made available to the new government with the purpose of imprisoning former President Cristina Fernández de Kirchneran invitation that was categorically rejected by Mr. López”, the lawyers stated in the brief to which Télam agreed.
“The events that occurred subsequently have already been duly documented in the case through different presentations, which is why, in order to be brief, we refer to them,” they remarked.
Sturzenegger, in a note in Perfil titled Is it possible to close the crack?, recounted that at a dinner prior to the elections that Macri won in 2015, he heard a proposal from the former Minister of Public Works Roberto Dromi who was talking about expropriating C5N.
“I remember the first item on his list was ‘expropriate C5N’; the second, ‘intervene Cristina’s hotels’, and so on. Dromi’s list was not one of tasks to be carried out, but of how to liquefy the resources and power of those who he thought would use them against the future government,” said the former head of the Central Bank of the macrismo in one of his paragraphs.
