The Nicaraguan migrant Marlon Antonio Pastora, 33 years old, originally from Nueva Guinea, died on April 15, in a traffic accident, in Atlanta, Georgia, United States. The tragedy, according to the humanitarian organization Texas Nicaraguan Communityclaimed the lives of two other people, of Honduran nationality, who were traveling in the vehicle.
Jeyling Libeth Pastora, sister of the deceased, told Article 66 that the national had four months of having arrived in the United States in search of better life opportunities for his two youngest daughters – 12 and five years old – and for his mother.

“My brother had gone to the United States to make his own house and make a better life,” said his sister, who added that on the day of the tragedy they managed to communicate, where Pastora told them that she was going to change state because I had a steady job.
He stressed that the only thing they know is the information that one of his relatives gave about the death of his relative. “The only thing we know is that my brother died in an accident when he was traveling in a minibus with four other passengers.”
After learning of the tragedy, the relatives of the young migrant began a campaign to collect financial support to achieve their repatriation. «Marlon —Pastora— was a very intelligent and brave young man; since he was little he was very strong, but he had to die outside the country. Now we have faith in God that people will support us so that he can be buried in his country,” explained Jeyling Pastora.

Since 2018, the wave of migration to the United States has increased, due to the economic crisis that Nicaragua is experiencing or due to repression at the hands of the regime of Daniel Ortega and Rosario Murillo.
In their attempt, dozens of migrants have perished when crossing into the North American country, others are victims of kidnapping or die from other situations, while already inside the country.
