The Second Criminal Chamber of the Court of Appeal of the National District released the administrator of the Gascue Medical Center clinic, Omar Baldomero Contreras Rosario, who was serving a year in prison for allegedly falsifying documents to transfer shares of that center, to the detriment of other shareholders .
Immediately, doctors from the affected clinic appealed the decision of the judges before the Court of Appeal of Santo Domingo.
Contreras Rosario is incarcerated at the Haras Nacionales Correction and Rehabilitation Center.

The court upheld a constitutional habeas corpus action filed by Contreras Rosario, establishing that he was deprived of liberty by order of an incompetent authority, for which reason it ordered his immediate release.
The court also ordered the cessation of resolution 249-01-2022, issued by the National District Sentence Enforcement Court on March 31, 2022.
Last October, substitute magistrate Edward Abreu Acevedo sent Contreras Rosario to serve a year in prison in the aforementioned prison.
