They propose a roadmap to improve tourism strategies

A report with which they propose a roadmap in 10 points against the risks and opportunities of the sector, among which are Data Intelligence for decision-making, community development, sustainability linked to public policies and domestic tourism at the center of priorities and training for tourism talent to promote vocation, was prepared by Llorente y Cuenta (LLYC).

The report called “The new era of tourism: from experience to emotions”, seeks to be more assertive in the tourism strategy demanded by the current environment, avoiding past practices and thus anticipating new challenges.

“Historically, tourism has been in a constant evolution, what happened with the pandemic is that some processes of change were accelerated that confront us with new paradigms. People will not stop traveling, but they will focus more on their emotions than on the experience when choosing destinations, airlines, hotels and attractions”, says Anel Hernández, director of Stakeholders Management and Tourism at LLYC Mexico and co-author of the report.

For his part, the General Director of the Los Cabos Tourism Trust and co-author of the report, Rodrigo Esponda, considers that sustainability is more than a trend and needs to be part of the DNA of tourist destinations and that one of the main lines of action in the sustainability of destinations is the creation of a competitive, attractive and differentiated tourism product.
