Police officers attached to the Counterfeit Investigation Departmentoccupied a total of 667 bottles and a plastic container with a liquid of allegedly adulterated alcohol, during a raid on an establishment selling alcoholic beverages located in the San Carlos sector, National District.
The intervention was carried out in coordination with the Department of Crimes and Crimes Against Health of the National District Prosecutor’s Office, and members of the Central Intelligence Directorate (DINTEL), through search warrant No.0008-JUNIO-2022, for violation to the General Health Law 42-01, 528-01, 3489 and Law 17-19, on the Eradication of Illicit Trade, Contraband and Counterfeiting of Regulated Products.
For this fact, Martín de Jesús Placencio was arrested, who serves as administrator of an establishment located on Emilio Prud’ Homme street, corner of Padre Miguel street, in the sector in question, where the merchandise was seized.
Among the items seized are 436 bottles of 350 milligrams, without a label, allegedly adulterated alcohol; 218 bottles of rum, 13 bottles of whiskey and a plastic container with a brown liquid presumably coloring for alcohol.
De Jesús Placencio is under the control of the Public Ministry for the corresponding legal purposes.

After the joint intervention, the National Institute for the Protection of Consumer Rights (Proconsumidor) was notified so that it proceeds immediately with what is established in the legal regulations, as well as for the application of the sanctioning measures contemplated in Law 358- 05 on consumer protection.
