They occupy 118 bales of alleged marijuana on the Montecristi highway

Montecristi – Members of the Central Directorate of Criminal Investigations of the Police (Dicrim) of this province and Valverde, seized 118 bales of a green vegetable, presumably marijuana, by monitoring a dump truck.

The action of the members of Dicrim with the support of the Preventive Police was carried out at kilometer 4 of the Duarte de Montecristi highway, at a time when the authorities were seizing a dump truck loaded with earth, several sacks containing the vegetable controlled by the authorities.

The truck was traveling west-east and suffered an accident at kilometer 4 of the Duarte de Montecristi highway, where it was left abandoned with the merchandise inside.

In relation to this fact no person is detained. It transpired that the vehicle yesterday on the aforementioned stretch of highway overturned and that no one had gone to rescue it, so the Dicrim members in Montecristi began their intelligence work until they seized the drug whose weight is not specified until the moment.

The 118 bales of alleged marijuana and the dump truck were handed over by Dicrim to prosecutor Francis Peña and members of the DNCD in Montecristi, who are already the authorities responsible for determining who are the people involved in violating Law 50- 88 On Narcotic Drugs and Controlled Substances.
