The National Civil Protection System (Sinaproc) issued a prevention notice from August 16 to 18, due to the increase in waves and deep sea in the Panamanian Pacific.

This notice coincides with the rain warning due to the entry of a new tropical wave in the country.

According to the Department of Hydrometeorology of Etesa, waves between 1.0 and 3.0 meters high and periods of 10 to 20 seconds are expected.

Possible flooding is expected in beach areas and Pacific coasts, due to strong waves.

The maritime zones under notice are: Panama Bay, Los Santos, Veraguas Sur, Gulf of Chiriquí.
