The incidents occurred during a search and the prisoners burned mattresses, says Interior

Authorities are investigating beatings and confrontations that occurred in the Module 4 of Santiago Vázquez (exComcar) last Sunday, where several people were injured. Police sources told The Observer what was there at least 30 inmates beaten, and a dozen police officers seriously injured. However the The Ministry of the Interior reported that there were no officials injureda fact that the prosecution is investigating.
The facts are confusing. The director of the National Rehabilitation Institute, Luis Mendoza, ordered an urgent investigation to establish what happened. There are no security cameras on site.
According to the Ministry of the Interior, police officers had to intervene in sector A1 of Module 4 of Unit No. 4 (Santiago Vázquez) during a requisition in which people deprived of liberty starred in mattress burning incidents.

That same Sunday, the Prosecutor’s Office was informed of the fact and all the people housed in the sector were referred to the unit’s polyclinic to verify injuries. According to the official part, there were no serious injuries, so it was not necessary to transfer to care centers.
During the search, Interior added, 18 prison cuts and a cell phone were seized.
