They find the dismembered body of a young man in La Paz

Jorge Quispe / La Paz

Dylan Q., a 24-year-old man, is the name of the victim whose body appeared dismembered yesterday in the Pura Pura grove, according to his relatives at the judicial morgue in La Paz. The boy had been missing since January 15. The prosecutor Dubravka Jordán and firefighters raised the body.

After the Firefighters and the Police carried out the legal removal of the body, the father and other relatives arrived at the deposit in Miraflores and identified the person by the clothing and sports shoes he was wearing.

Minutes later, they demanded that prosecutor Jordán hand over all the remains, despite the fact that the police were still looking for the skull and arms yesterday, which are presumed to have been devoured by dogs that swarm through that sector. It was learned that the young man disappeared on January 15 in La Paz.

Police report

Earlier, Lieutenant Colonel Vladimir Peredo, commander of the Comprehensive Police Station (EPI) in the Pura Pura grove, reported the discovery.

“At the complaint of a passer-by inside the grove, the existence of human remains, apparently of a male person, has been made known to police personnel,” said the officer.

“(The body) would have been in the place for several days, since it shows severe signs of having been devoured by stray dogs that roam the place. (…) Personnel are patrolling inside the grove to see if there is any suspicious situation or if there are other body parts,” Peredo added to Página Siete.

It is estimated that the remains were in place about eight days before their discovery. A backpack that presumably belonged to the victim was also found near the scene. The site where the body was found is a steep slope in the middle of trees and difficult to access.

One of the hypotheses that the relatives handle is that Dylan Q. was victimized by his partner, although that will be clarified by the investigators of the Special Force to Fight Crime, who have already begun the investigation.
