rescue agencies reported the finding of the third fatality of the mass movement that occurred on May 18 in the village of Laureles in the municipality of Santa Fe de Antioquia, west of the department.

According to the Antioquia Risk Management Administrative Department (Dagran), the body found corresponds to that of Carlos Enrique Benítez, husband of María Laurencia Rivera72, who was also buried after the collapse and her body was recovered the day before.

“We have achieved with the binomials of canines mark some points that have effectively been giving results according to the work we are already doing rescue with yellow machinery and dump trucks”, said Felipe Pardo, mayor of the municipality.

so far this year 28 people have lost their lives due to events associated with the rains: 14 due to torrential flood, 8 due to mass movement, 1 due to flooding, 1 due to electrical storm, 1 due to falling tree, and 3 due to sudden flooding.
