MIAMI, United States. — The Cuban writer Yaneli Morales, based in the United States, denounced on social networks the discovery of animal remains in the hash that is sold in state butcher shops on the island.
The woman did spread on Twitter an image in which remains of beef entrails appear in the hash.
“I haven’t published anything for a while, but from my heart I need to know what this is that my neighbor found inside the hash that they sold us today at the butcher shop. What part and what animal is it? Is that what we deserve, what is thrown away in other places, type of waste? ”, Questioned Morales in his publication.
Complaint: It’s been a while since I published anything, but from the bottom of my heart I need to know what this is that my neighbor found inside the mincemeat that they sold us today at the butcher shop, what part and what animal is it from? Users on the same social network pointed out that it could be “the part of the throat that communicates with the esophagus and palate.”
“That looks like the back of a cow’s tongue. If it’s not, it’s pretty similar. It is at the end of the tongue that it has this thing that looks like teeth”, specified the tweeter Evelin Grillo.
Others suggested that the complainant file a complaint with the authorities.
“He should have complained to the corresponding authorities with the evidence and be aware of the measures that are taken. Have a lot of faith in God, who will take sides in the matter,” wrote a user identified as Arnaldo.
In recent decades, mincemeat has been one of the most consumed products by Cubans, who have found in this meat an alternative to the food crisis on the island.
Both in markets and in state butcher shops it is possible to find hash, although not a few are wary of the origin of the meat with which the product is made.
