They fear that collapses will continue in the Santa Clara neighborhood on a street that collapsed and has not been repaired

Frightened are street dwellers Santa Clara of the Manoguayabo sector, Santo Domingo Oeste, because more than a year ago a street road collapsed due to a landslide, without so far the authorities of the Ministry of Public Works have come to solve the problem, they denounced.

The collapse occurred on November 3 of last year 2020 as a result of the rains. On the occasion of their anniversary, the community members held a protest with candles and cake.

They denounced that the authorities cannot claim ignorance of the situation on the street, since in different ways they have taken their claim to the government authorities.

After a year of this situation, the collapse has progressed in such a way that it is impacting the road that is next to it and compromising the safety of an apartment complex. The retaining wall that divided the development from the street section also collapsed. This can be evidenced in images taken from a drone, courtesy of Raúl Germán Bautista.

“We are waiting for the help of the corresponding authorities who already have the information because since November 3, 2020 we are waiting for them to come to solve this situation, there are sick people here and they cannot go out, there are children who cannot play around here. We have our houses and we are worried because we are going to lose everything we have had … we want an answer! ”, Aury Jiménez, a resident of the community, reproached.
