DUARTE.– The Second Court of this demarcation sentenced eight years in prison against two men who associated to steal fuel in the premises of an antenna of a telephone company, located in the Cenoví municipal district, of the Pimentel municipality.
The Court, made up of judges Víctor Inoa, María de los Ángeles and Yudelka Buret Marcano, handed down the sentence against Williams Henríquez María and Abel Espinal Hernández, after establishing their relationship with the criminal act.
The court found them guilty of the crimes of association of criminals and aggravated robbery to the detriment of the Claro Dominicana telephone company and ordered their sentence to be served at the Vista al Valle Correction and Rehabilitation Center, in the municipality of San Francisco de Macorís. The facts constitute a violation of articles 265, 266, 379, 381, 382, 383, 385, 295 and 304 of the Penal Code.
The accusatory file presented by the Duarte Prosecutor’s Office indicates that Henríquez María and Espinal Hernández were arrested in flagrante delicto, after 4:00 p.m. on February 12, 2019.
It indicates that the two men entered the scene aboard a white Nissan Frontier double-cab van, and stole the fuel (diesel) from the supply of the antenna.
The action was captured on video by the surveillance camera of the security system of the place.
