They deliver property titles to badenses who were reassigned

The Ministry of Public Works and Communications (MOPC) delivered property titles to 9 beneficiaries as a compensatory measure for the assisted purchase of homes around the Costanera Sur project and the refulado.

The delivery is part of the Resettlement Plan of the Bañado Sur Housing and Rehabilitation Program of Asunción – Barrio Tacumbú.

The MOPC was in charge of the purchase of the property and transfer in favor of each beneficiary, as well as all the administrative expenses derived from it. In addition, it provided support for each of the moves made, in accordance with the Operational Policies of the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB).

The Resettlement Plan allowed the inhabitants of new highly vulnerable family nuclei who resided in the work zone to be definitively resettled in other places outside the Bañado Tacumbú, through the compensatory measure assisted purchase of housing.

The measures are carried out to mitigate the social impact of the Costanera Sur Avenue project, whose refulfillment for the future coastal defense in the area will take about three years of works.

For this, temporary and permanent resettlements are carried out, with the assisted purchase of homes outside the new Tacumbú neighborhood.

Finally, the single economic compensation for reinstatement and labor maintenance constitutes the compensatory payment to families located in the area called “Banco Hovy”, due to the damage caused by the interruption of the activity or economic displacement of a productive unit considered micro business (activities of agriculture, fishing and animal husbandry) and that were not liable to be relocated.

In the same way, these families received an indemnity payment for existing agroforestry improvements and crops, with replacement value to new, in order to reduce risk and ensure the reestablishment of living conditions.
