Deputy Arnaldo Samaniego, head of the Budget Committee of the Lower House, visited the Saxony port terminal, known as “Puerto Saxony”, where stevedores and other workers from different sectors demand the possibility of reactivating the operation of the site.
A meeting was held at the site with these workers, in which, in addition to the legislator, the national director of Customs, Julio Fernández; and the president of the National Administration of Navigation and Ports (ANNP), Rubén Carmelo Valdez.
According to Deputy Samaniego, the objective was indeed “to collect data and information with a view to reactivating the port terminal.”
Regarding what was stated by the operators, day laborers and street vendors who accompanied the tour, he indicated that “specifically, regularizing the operation of this important port station was the request made.”
Bicameral Budget Commission
On the other hand, it should be noted that the Bicameral Budget Commission (CBP), a body that is formed for the purpose of analyzing the Draft Law of the General Budget of the Nation (PGN), for the following fiscal year, and is made up of deputies and senators , will begin work next Monday, September 19. Legislator Arnaldo Samaniego will be president of the aforementioned bloc.
The meetings will take place in the session room of the Chamber of Deputies (fourth floor), between September 19 and October 30 (face-to-face and virtual).
As every year, the parliamentarians will receive the authorities of the institutions and dependencies that receive resources from the public budget, who will provide details about the 2023 action plan.
