With the aim of updating itself in union, educational and service matters, Panama welcomed from this Wednesday, August 31, nurses from the country and international delegations, who are part of the XIX National Congress of Nurses (os) Panama 2022 and the IV International, a masterful activity that will take place until this Friday, September 2, 2022, at the Wyndham Panama Hotel, in Albrook Mall.
This academic and scientific event organized by the National Association of Nurses of Panama (ANEP), has the purpose of discussing union, training and service issues.
The president of the organizing committee, Licda. Yariela González, explained that in this edition topics framed in three thematic axes will be developed and debated: Empowerment and leadership of nurses in the professional and union environment; labor force; and guarantee for universal health and educate to transform and innovate the nursing care of today and tomorrow.
These interventions will be presented by national and international speakers of high professional and academic profile, through conferences, panels and forums that will be framed under the slogan “Care in the context of Universal Health with a vision of the future”.
González stressed that, during these three days, the intention is to meet again and share socially among colleagues, after facing a global health situation where the participation of nurses (os) played an important role in controlling the pandemic due to the Covid-19. “This involved a professional and social commitment that implied personal sacrifice, family sacrifice and, above all, attention based on the uncertainty of the unknown,” he added.
In addition, it is intended that, through the debate on care, universal health and vision of the future, it is possible to establish a roadmap that allows nurses from their various work contexts, such as the service, union and teaching, committing to universal health, not only ensuring health coverage but also ensuring access to the care that people need, and the right time when care is needed.
He emphasized once again resuming the rhythm of health activities and programs in the face of a scenario of post-pandemic factors that have affected the nursing workforce.
“From innovation, we intend from this meeting to make visible the ability of the nurse to adapt and develop other ways of offering care through teleconsultation for outpatient monitoring of the patient, remote assistance and the timely identification of signs and symptoms. , as well as the use of techniques to improve the management of administrative processes”, said the president of the organizing committee.
During the three days of exhibition, those attending the congress will be able to enjoy two days of presentations of research papers, which aim to encourage professionals in the guild to investigate the results that contribute to the solution of social problems and the practice of nursing, in such a way that they contribute to decision making.
At the same time, the importance of what to do to discipline nursing will be reinforced through the need to continue developing a broad conceptual and theoretical framework of nursing as a discipline and profession.
