The Buenos Aires government makes this noon a public audienceunder the virtual modality, to discuss a go up 40% of the subway feewhich will carry the value of the ticket $30 to $42 and that it would come into effect mid september.
The list of exhibitors includes Mauro Alabuenaspresident of the state company Subways of Buenos Airesthe former legislator Mary Joseph Lubertino; Claudio Dellecarbonara, of the Union Association of Underground and Premetro Workers; and the national deputy Myriam Bregmannamong others.
For the development of the hearing, the virtual modality was foreseen through the Zoom platform for the speakers, with transmission on the YouTube channel of the Buenos Aires government that broadcasts this type of public calls.
The fare increase was announced on July 21 by the Buenos Aires government in accordance with the decision of the National Ministry of Transport to initiate the citizen consultation process to modify the fare schedules for train and bus services in the Metropolitan Area.
The increase in fares on buses and trains began to take effect on August 1 in the AMBA.
If the increase of the order of 40% finally materializes, the Subway rate, which is currently at $30, will cost $42 from mid-September. The last increase executed was in April 2021, when a 25% increase was applied and the ticket went from $25.50 to $30.
