Agents of the Intelligence and Special Operations Group (GIOE) Amazonia, managed to the capture of two Peruvian citizens when they tried to take off on board a small plane, without authorization, at the Santa Rosa de Yacuma aerodrome, located in the department of Trinidad.
The police mobilization took place on July 20 in an operation called “Oso Bandera III”. The two subjects, upon noticing the police presence, tried to flee.However, they were apprehended and a Bolivian person who was the aerodrome guard was arrested.
Peruvian citizens were identified such as 45-year-old Iván M. (Peruvian), who was the pilot and who was in possession of 12 grams of marijuana; and the co-pilot named Carlo WG (36) who worked as the aircraft’s mechanic.
The Minister of Government, Eduardo Del Castillo, stated this Monday that both defendants they were allegedly returning to their country of origin aboard the plane with control plate CP-2587, to illegally introduce controlled substances into the national territory in order to send them to Brazil.
The authority mentioned that The pilot has a record in Peru linked to drug trafficking in the 2013 administration, having been found red-handed in possession of 66 kilograms of cocaine base paste.
“This operation affected drug trafficking in excess of $200,000,” said Del Castillo.
He pointed out that in this operation the plane was hijacked to be subjected to a micro-vacuuma 22 mm caliber firearm and an ammunition box with 15 projectiles
