Representatives of importers, distributors, auto decoration stores and sound equipment sales, installers and “musicologists” today requested the President of the Republic, Louis Abinadersummon all the sectors that intervene in the industry of the music for the creation of tolerance zones throughout the country and prohibit the seizure of equipment music that they are turned off and do not break the law.

In a document read to the press, Popa said that over the years there have been multiple meetings with civil and police authorities, and it has never been possible to bring together all the sectors involved in applying Law 284-04, modified by the Law 90-19, to achieve the creation of musical tolerance zones throughout the country.

“By this means we request the honorable President of the Republic, Louis Abinaderto convene a meeting with our sector with the Minister of the Interior and Police, the Attorney General’s Office for the Environment (attached to the Attorney General’s Office), the director general of the National Police, the president of the Federation of Municipalities, and the president of the Federation of Municipal Districts, for the creation of tolerance zones throughout the country and prohibit the seizure of equipment music that they are turned off and that they do not violate the law,” he said.

They ask to instruct the members of the Public Ministry in the sense that the rights of citizens and their properties are respected, so that possible misconduct is faced in accordance with the measures provided by law.

Likewise, they request to instruct that the infraction acts be drawn up, in which the brands of the seized equipment and the decibels with the corresponding meters are specified, and the noise of the environment is measured to compare it with the loud sound.

Also, they ask that it be taken into consideration that, if the importation of sound equipment is a legal trade activity, prohibit the seizure of these from those who are not violating the law. And, at the same time, prohibit the seizure of vehicles and the arrest of citizens for having music installed with power off.

In a meeting with the press, they requested the return of the sound equipment seized while it was turned off, to its legitimate owners, in the National Police and in the Environment Attorney’s Office.
