The Bolivarian National Guard (GNB) arrested two members of the criminal organization El Tren de Guayana, dedicated to kidnapping, extortion and homicide, among others.
One of the subjects was captured in the Simón Bolívar sector, Caroní municipality (Ciudad Guayana), Bolívar and was identified as Eliceo Márquez Maíz.
The subject had a 9 mm shotgun, two cartridges of the same caliber, a patriotic uniform, a tactical vest, a pair of military boots and a helmet.
Márquez Maiz was handed over to the Public Ministry where he will be prosecuted for illegal possession of a firearm and usurpation of functions.
And in the San Luis sector, El Callao municipality (Bolívar), the soldiers attached to the Rural Command Detachment No. 62-3 detained another member of the Guayana Train, registered as Genaro Yovanni Valdez Rozo, from whom they seized five plastic containers of 120 milliliters of the so-called Lean drug, which results from combining the Preveral drug with alcoholic beverages.
During another procedure, a subject identified as Clemente José Medina Rodríguez was arrested in Terrazas del Caroní, Puerto Ordaz (Bolívar), according to a report from the National Anti-Extortion and Kidnapping Command (Conas).
That subject was denounced by a victim who was demanding high sums in dollars so as not to attack his physical integrity. Upon receiving the complaint, the Conas activated an operation to capture the offender through a controlled delivery of the dollars that he demanded from the victim.
At the time of being captured, Medina Rodríguez had a cell phone seized that, when emptied, contained all the threatening messages he had sent to his victim.
